Happy 30 Year Anniversary to Caliber & Hope 4 Others - True Love

it's not often in the rush of every day life that we acknowledge the really good accomplishments that mean something .

when a couple has stayed together and experienced the ups and downs together in love and life- i have always felt it is a worthy accomplishment !

so on that note i'd invite everyone to join me in a toast tonight to a fine jwd couple who are celebrating their " 30th" year together this weekend.

Even old people need to be put in their place!

today, at a park restaurant, this old lady saw a young fat lady walking past and started making fun of her with her friends.

the fat young lady saw this and i could see the look of hurt on her face.

i couldn't help myself, i got up went to the old lady and told her she was being hurtful and childish considering her age, and she should grow up!

Yep, some people just never grow up. Of course they might have their own 'baggage' which causes them to behave in that way and until they recognise that and deal with it, the 'child' continues to rule. Hopefully your intervention might have made something 'click' in this lady.

there seems to be a variety of defintions on the net so what does "soul mate" mean?.

H4O - yep, that's the definition I was thinking of - the companion ones, except the connectedness is far deeper than seems to be implied by the quote given.

For example, I would say one of my sisters is a soul mate - yes she helps me out of trouble etc, as have many others in my life, but she has an awareness of what's going on 'underneath the surface' too. I seriously can't disguise how I'm really feeling from her! I can wear a big smile but she still knows I'm feeling as miserable as hell. That's the kind of perception/connection which makes her a soul mate imho.

I think the same as LouBelle - a soul mate isn't necessarilly your physical partner, rather, it is someone who understands you fully more from the emotional and possibly intellectual aspects.

Someone you couldn't hide your darkest secrets or feelngs from even if you tried!

Free Virus Protection???

i have had mcafee virus protection on this crappy computer of mine for the last year, which has now expired.

some people have told me to use the free software available online as virus protection - i am a bit sceptical... does anyone do this?

is it safe?

AVG free version is good as it scans your emails too. The free one doesn't detect spyware/adware though so run it with Spybot S&D or AdAware.

Make sure you download the FREE version, NOT the 30 day free trial.

Also, if you have Norton installed, make sure you completely remove it before downloading AVG otherwise it causes chaos with your computer!!

I don't know how true it is but they say that the purchasable AVG is targetted more at businesses, so they're happy to offer it as a free download to home users - the only downside being that you don't get the tech support (although they do have a users forum which I used to find answered questions much quicker lol!)

Oh yes so I see:

I disagree on your choice peppermint - that isn't actually too bad - not a winner though!

However, check out Latvia - now that's what I call Eurovisionesque!

I see Georgia has the 'world peace protest' entry this year.

I think the UK entry is good but like hamilcarr says, too tame. If the first few bars don't grab the audience, it's not a winner.

Had a listen to a few of the songs, there's some pretty good ones and I think it could be close - just depends on how much political voting gets in the way lol!

Eurovision certainly seems to have improved on its traditional image!

Is it really hot where you're at?.....Found solution for cooling outdoors!

if you are staying home for memorial day this weekend and planning on being outdoors, especially in the south.....we just installed something from costco.

its a misting system.

What a weird idea. It doesn't get that hot and dry here - there's always plenty of humidity, so I guess I can't really grasp the concept!

Just don't forget to stay in the shade or slap on the sun cream, damp skin burns quicker because the water droplets magnify the sun's rays even if they're only there for a short time!

Wouldn't work too well with the barbie either would it?!
